I got the Medium-heavy action rod. I think it is a little lighter than that. The rod is light and I swear I can feel a fish fart on the thing. Great Sea Bass or Fluke rod. I originally just got it to mate with with a Peen Peerless 9 reel that I restored. I did not know I would like it that much!
ProsGreat sensitivity! I can actually fee the difference between the wreck and a bite.
ConsToo much sensitivity. If you have rocky bottom like Delaware Bay, this is not the rod!

best rod brand out there for the price

They are literally manufactured around the corner from where i live ( less than 5 miles) in Mahwah NJ and are truly fantastic. I would recommend this company to anyone, plain and simple. This is my current pole from bottom fishing to Mahi Mahi and even smaller sharks. I even caught a 300+lb shark on my tsunami reel rated for 40 lb and my tsunami pole rated for 80-100 pound line in a chum slick 10 ft from the boat and wrenched him in. My father went out and bought a $300 custom rod years back for it's lightness and sensitivity, but when i handed him my rod to hold so i could get a sandwich, he he wouldn't give it back and went out and bought one of these. The thing is so sensitive you can literally feel the types of ocean floor terrain you are on, and distinguish bites from that, and also it is light as a feather.
ProsWell worth the money. Very sensitive. Light as a feather. Strong poles. Very good looking.
ConsAbsolutely none. Best rod i have ever used, and i have used a lot!

I purchased the rod last year and liked it so much I purchased another. Used it for trolling and live lining. The rod is a little heavy but is built well and performs well, too. 5 stars for the price.

Tsunami boat rod

Couldn't beat the price, needed a rod to match with my penn squall 50. This rod was a good match. Going to be great for live bait fishing or trolling big deep divers. Rods a little heavy the way they build the handle into the rod.
Would the spinning 7' be good for sturgeon in the California delta and bay?
Thanks!

You'd be better off going with the 6'6" model.

Would this rod work for blackfish? Whats the action on it ?
1 Answer
Unfortunately, the action for these rods are not specified through Tsunami. After handling the rods ourselves here at TackleDirect we consider this rod a fast action. The rod can work for Blackfish, but there are better options suited for that type of fishing. A popular series of rods purchased for Blackfish fishing are: https://www.tackledirect.com/lamiglas-tri-flex-graphite-saltwater-inshore-rods.html
