Great rod! like any other St. Croix Products, there isn't much to complain about. The rod is very sturdy and hold up very well when fights large fish. I have the rod matched to a Shimano Ultegra CI45500+. This outfit is my go to for pitching to docks and walls with live bait.

Great Inshore Rod
March 11, 2018
After owning the mojo surf i decided to give the inshore model a try. I use the H 3/4-2 oz rating as my boat fluke rod (handles up to 4 oz nicely) as well as tossing lures rated 2 oz's or less from the shore. Very light and have it paired with a old penn i believe 4500.
ProsWeight,versatility
Conslittle pricey but worth it

Decent rod, not my style
October 26, 2017
Not a bad rod. Has decent backbone and loads very well throughout the listed lure range. Found they were softer than what I was used to for the listed power. Feels nice in the hand but looks like a telephone pole. SCR-1143.

I have owned the St.Croix mojo inshore for about a year now and it has given me zero problems! it is one of the best rods that I have ever used in that price range. Very nice flexibility as well as strength. The warrantee is also a great deal if anything is to happen to it.
ProsThe warrantee The guides price for the quality that you receive
ConsI haven't had one yet and it has been about a year now

What size would I pair with a Penn Spinfisher V 3500 spooled with 15lb braid? Looking for a great size for speckled trout
1 Answer
There are a few options that would pair well. Either the 7ft MH or the 7ft 6 M would pair nicely with the spinfisher 3500. Also will be a great set up for speckled trout and most inshore species.

1 Answer
It would be a good pairing, if your fishing deeper water with heavier jigs and need to stay on the bottom then the heavy version of this rod is a good choice.

On the 7?9? x heavy,? What Daiwa Saltist or Penn Battle 2  spinning reel would be a good match
1 Answer
I would generally recommend pairing this rod model with a 4000 or 5000 size reel,

The Saltist 4500 would be a perfect match, Penns are usually slightly larger so a 4000 size would pair well.

I would highly recommend also looking at the Shimano Stradic FL or Daiwa Ballistic models to keep this set up nice and lightweight

The 4500 Spinfisher will work well with this rod, as will the Vanford. It all comes down to personal preference.

1 Answer
We would recommend the 7' Medium rated for 3/8-3/4oz lures. Allows you to do a little of everything and pairs well with a 3000 class inshore reel. If you trying to match up to a 4000 or 5000, check out the 7" Medium Heavy.

Looking to pair my Penn Clash 4000 with either a MH/H or 7/7.6 for fluke and stripped bass fishing. What do you suggest ?
1 Answer
I'd suggest the 7' for boat fishing or bank fishing. You may want to go with the 7'6" if you are fishing from shore and want to increase your casting distance. As far as choosing between the MH or H I would consider how heavy the lures and/or weight that you'll be using and select the one that falls most within the lure weight range of the rod.
