New for 2019, the Shimano Stradic FL Spinning Reels are the latest edition to a line of spinning reels that for generations has served as a benchmark by which all other reels in its class are measured. For years, the Stradic has set the bar for innovation and performance at its price point, and the Stradic FL continues this tradition by putting flagship level performance in the hands of anglers at a price never thought possible. Now driven by Shimano's MicroModule II cold forged gear, anglers can experience unprecedented smoothness and power transfer. Internal components are tuned to the highest tolerances possible with Shimano's Silent Drive technology.
To protect your investment from the elements, Shimano's X-Protect water repellent coating and specially designed water channeling labyrinth construction work to prevent water intrusion and preserve that out-of-the-box effortless rotation for the life of the reel without adding the rotational resistance commonly felt in sealed reels. Euipped with a heavy duty Cross Carbon Drag system, the Stradic FL is poised to be put to the ultimate test against the hardest pulling inshore species. The introduction of the Long Stroke Spool offers enhanced casting capabilities by decreasing the frequency in which your line changes direction while coming off the spool, creating less turbulence going through the guides and resulting in longer, smoother casts. From the lake to the back bays and beyond, the Stradic FL proves itself to be a worthy edition to the Stradic legacy.
Shimano Technology Found in Stradic FL Spinning Reels :
If yes what size
The best option Shimano Stradic would be the 5000 size. 24 pounds of drag, adequate line capacity and the reel only weighs 9.3 oz's.
You can pair that with a 7'6 or 8 foot rod medium or medium heavy, moderate fast or fast. A good rod that comes to mind would be the
St.Croix avid inshore which can be found in this link https://www.tackledirect.com/st-croix-vis80mf-avid-inshore-spinning-rod-8-ft.html
thank you
The GLoomis Bronzeback SMR752S-SP spinning rod will pair nicely with the Shimano Stradic 2500 FL spinning reel. Please let us know if there is anything else we can assist you with.
The Shimano Stradic FL 3000 will pair nicely with the St.Croix Avis Trek spinning rod ATS66MF3 for smallmouth fishing. Please let me know if there is anything else we can assist you with.
The Shimano Stradic FL can be spooled for you prior to you receiving it. Just purchase the braid that you want on the reel as part of your order and put in the notes/comments that you would like the purchased braid spooled onto the reel prior to shipping. Also include any special instructions unless you want one of TackleDirect's Prostaff to spool according to spec.
What would be the the delivery charge to Perth Western Australia?
The Shimano Stradic FL 5000 spinning reel would be fine for Muskie fishing as it has plenty of drag (24lb) and line capacity (235yds/30lb braid). The right rod is definitely the more important piece when casting 1-4oz lures all day. Please let us know if there is anything else we can assist you with.
The Stradic 5000 can be used to target bigger fish, like Barramundi, since as it has 24lb max drag. Please let us know if there is anything else we can assist you with.
Thank you for answering.
I would suggest looking at the new St. Croix Mojo and Triumph inshore rods
SG1530S10 (10 ft) Stellar Lite Surf Spin Rod
Although this is a very solid tough reel, I wouldn't recommend using it as an offshore reel seeing that they only go up to a 5000 size.
I would recommend bumping up to a Saragosa or twin power if you are looking for more of an offshore reel
